Dzulhami Old-Age Welfare Society celebrates 16th foundation day

Dzulhami Old-Age Welfare Society observed its 16th foundation day on May 10 with Senior Citizens Association of Nagaland office bearers as the special guests.

Dzülhami (Phek), May 11 (MExN): Dzulhami Old-Age Welfare Society observed its 16th foundation day on May 10. Senior Citizens Association of Nagaland (SCAN) office bearers led by its president graced the occasion as the special guests. Around 180 people above the age of 60 years attended the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Khanlo Magh, President, SCAN shared his concern about the present generation’s moral values of honesty, integrity and respect for each other, particularly to elders. 

He expressed regret about the “lack of opposition in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and feared that many critical issues could be passed without debate or discussion,” stated a press release received here. Further lamenting that Naga society is “so divided, be it among the national workers or the public,” he urged the “Naga people to be strongly united and pursue their ultimate goal.”

Short speeches were delivered by Dr R Rose, General Secretary SCAN, SP Francis, Treasurer SCAN, Pankathan Lotha, Joint Secretary SCAN and former minister Zachilhü R Vadeo.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Zapove Naroh while invocation was pronounced by Dutsonyi Keyho, Pastor DBC and welcome address was delivered by Müdonyi Shijoh, chairman, Dzulhami Old-Age Welfare Society.

During the discussion hour Razukhrü Vasa, Rtd joint director, RD moderated the interaction time while the vote thanks was delivered by Zavepra Nyekha, chairman Dzulhami Village Council followed by benediction by Civotso Vasa, evangelist, DCRC.
