
Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Department of Information Technology and Communication, Government of Nagaland is organizing the second e-Naga Summit on November 28 and 29, 2016 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, with an objective of bringing together various experts from abroad and elsewhere under one roof for brainstorming session.
The e-Naga Summit envisions to embark on a process to instil spirit of innovation and use of technology for impacting positive change in the society with target audience comprising of students, entrepreneurs, NGOs, Government Departments and industry professionals,” stated a press release from KD Vizo, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of IT and Communication. “This summit is envisioned to build the foundation required to identify our existing gaps, incubate ideas and devise solutions specific to the needs of the State of Nagaland with the hope that it will ultimately lead to progress and prosperity of the nation as a whole,” it added.
The theme of the summit is ‘Towards making the State of Nagaland the next IT hub in South East Asia’. It has been broadly selected for participants and resource persons to analyse and identify the root cause of the challenges and issues faced in the State of Nagaland. The topics of discussion are: What role can law makers play in promoting IT and e-Governance?; Can media be an enabler in promoting IT and e-Governance?; How can Civil Societies and students promote IT and e-Governance?; Information Technology and security of citizens; Importance of citizen centric services delivery; Can skill development and BPO be an answer to solving unemployment problem?; How can entrepreneurship be promoted in IT sector?
The findings will be used to generate practical solutions to bring about a radical transformation in IT and eGovernance sector in the State, the release stated.
Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya will grace the occasion as chief guest and P Paiwang Konyak, Minister, IT&C, Transport & Civil Aviation and Border Affairs will be the guest of honour. Various dignitaries like Chief Secretary, Nagaland and Adviser to President of Estonia will also speak during the inaugural function. All Administrative Heads of Departments, Heads of Departments, IT Nodal Officers of various departments, entrepreneurs, students, NGOs etc have been invited to attend the summit. The registration for the e-Naga Summit, 2016 will be done online as well as at the venue.
