e-SMS Nagaland platform for various govt. departments

Kohima | November 27: The State’s Department of Information Technology & Communication (DITC) has established e-SMS Nagaland, an exclusive SMS gateway for use by various government departments in Nagaland for providing departmental services over mobile phones as part of the M-Governance Nagaland. MobMe Wireless Solutions Pvt. Ltd has been entrusted by DITC Nagaland with the task of setting up and managing e-SMS Nagaland platform.
DITC said each department will be given different e-SMS accounts with unique sender id’s. The user can just log in to the account and send SMS alerts to the list of concerned people. And within seconds they will be updated with the latest information. “Empowering government departments with SMS platform reduces operation costs and increase efficiency of intra and inter-departmental communications,” the department said adding that most importantly this will help reduce paper and implement efficient and environmental friendly systems.
Sudden information like cancellation of meetings, change in schedule, requesting of additional information etc. can be done using SMS saving cost on telephone, time and paper, the department said.
The e-SMS portal provides features like, send message via SMS, view send logs, manage contacts, manage groups, contacts uploading via excel, manage templates, manage sender ID’s, see credit usage, scheduled SMS sending (at particular day and time), real time delivery report and unlimited storage of all reports and import of sender’s list from excel file.
In the form of advantages of e-SMS platform, it said the departments can issue immediate alerts to their employee about emergencies, send important information to key costumers or departmental branches thereby ensuring that the information is received by the right persons immediately, any updates or messages can be sent to roaming employee, such as field workers of any updates or messages, send multiple text messages from computer to mobile phones at just one click. It also stated that the department can send messages with a unique “Sender-id” 3. e-SMS applications, users will have a username/password to access the website or connect with API, a unique sender ID will be assigned to each others, API can be integrated easy to custom the applications of the user, delivery and SMS status reports are available at www.admin.esms.nagalanad.iic.in and the application supports contacts and groups management and sending of personalized SMS from excel sheet.
