Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): Venturing into the commercial hub of Nagaland for its training activities, Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) held an induction programme for Dimapur’s first batch trainees of the Basic Entrepreneurial Skills Training (B.E.S.T) on March 7.
It was held at EA’s newly launched training centre located at Darogapathar, which was dedicated by Rev. Lanuyanger, Pastor of Darogapathar Baptist Church on the same day.
Imlitemjen Longkumer, Assistant Trainer gave an introduction to the 90-hour training programme. Core member of EA, Khosato Keyho, said that the EA journey began over sixteen years ago with a group of young people who had the vision of walking down a different path, that of entrepreneurship. He exhorted the gathering to imbibe learning from the knowledge and experience of the trainers and resource persons and fully put them into practice for success in their entrepreneurial journey.
Lead trainer, Susan James applauded the positive response of the trainees in signing up for the programme. She added that the emphasis of entrepreneurship should be on utilization of the locally available resources and that with the high and varied levels of education of the trainees present, creative ways could be devised to that end.
Also speaking at the programme was Chairman of EATACOL (EA’s Thrift and Credit Wing), Tiatemsu Longchar, who focused on the importance of honing skills and creativity to truly be an entrepreneur which is a step above simply doing business.
B.E.S.T, an ongoing program, now in its 8th batch, is an undertaking of the EA Group of Social Ventures that is designed to give aspiring and existing entrepreneurs a vital boost in terms of knowledge acquisition, credit linkages and mentoring support.
