EAC Kohima urges youth to have rationale thinking

Kohima, February 15 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Kohima conducted District Youth Convention and Cultural Programme at SABT, Hall Kohima on February 15.


Special guest for the event, Kevingoto Kulnu EAC, Kohima said India is a land of rich demographic dividend and all central policies are based on it.


As per a press release from John Makhab, DYC, NYK Kohima, he urged the youth to have rationale thinking and logical conclusion.


The EAC also asked the youth to ponder on whether they are an asset or liability to society. “If you are an asset, then you are a contributing factor to country’s economy, you are meaningfully taking up self-employment enterprises, and productive with your vocational skills.”


The EAC said you become liability when you are reluctant, doing nothing worthwhile. He noted that, of late, many young people are staying idle and the idle mind was vulnerable to anti-social activities. “Young people should have proper drive in ones’ life,” asserted Kulnu.


He asked the youth to avail PMGP, MUDRA scheme, start-up India and pig-rearing sponsored by NABARD for entrepreneurship and join the productive work force for economic development.


John Makhabo, DYC, NYK, Kohima in his keynote address stated that NYKS is the largest grassroots level organization in the world where 1.5 lakh youth clubs are affiliated to it.


He also called upon the youth to take up economic generating activities where the lesser educated ones are given opportunity to earn livelihood through the efforts of the educated ones. He also suggested the sectors of poultry and piggery, where the youth have opportunities to shine.


Kulnu gave away financial incentives to three youth clubs - Meraki Youth Club, Kohima, The Naga Folk Promo Society and Onyx Club for participating in cultural events. 100 youth from various youth club attended the programme.


Dzieseneituoü, NYV anchored the programme while Rokosano, NYV led the invocation. Mhasil Nicholas, NYV welcomed the gathering and vote of thanks was given by Petuongunuo, NYV.
