East Police Station is set to reopen after a temporary sealing of its premises. The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur had ordered the sealing of the station on August 13 evening after its duty personnel came into contact with a suspected COVID-19 positive person.
The Morung Express had initially reported the suspected COVID-19 positive person was a police personnel. However, it is clarified that the person was an accused, who was arrested in connection to a criminal case.
The person, a male individual, tested positive in the TrueNat screening on August 13, told a Dimapur police official today. "The confirmatory result, which arrived late on August 14, was a negative," he informed.
Meanwhile, the Diphupar Police Station remained sealed. The confirmatory results of two individuals from the station were being awaited.
