Eastern Nagaland public meeting today: Total shutdown in ENPO jurisdiction

DIMAPUR, MARCH 27 (MExN): In view of the Eastern Nagaland public meeting on March 28 at Tuensang town, the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has declared a total shutdown in the entire Eastern Nagaland jurisdiction from 6 AM to 6 PM. 

According to a general information issued by the Eastern Nagaland Public Emergency Room, those exempted from the total shutdown include district administration, police and paramilitary forces, power department, fire and emergency services, medical emergencies, media, delegates coming for the propose meeting with vehicles and PHED. 

It should be mentioned that the ENPO is protesting over the delay of the Government of India in settling its offer for the creation of the Frontier Naga Territory (FNT), which was reportedly assured to be fulfilled before the Lok Sabha Parliamentary election 2024. 

It has also resolved not to participate in any Central or State election with a recent notification directive its members not to take part in any electioneering activities such as appointment of polling agents of different political parties and in any election-related training.
