‘Globe’ will be the symbol of the Party

DIMAPUR, APRIL 19 (MExN): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted recognition of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) as a ‘State Party’ in the state of Nagaland.

A press release issued by Media & Communications Committee of the NDPP today said the ECI on April 17, 2018 notified that on the basis of review of poll performance of the NDPP at the general elections to the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland, 2018, it has been seen that the NDPP has fulfilled the conditions laid down in Para 6A (i), (iii) and (v) of the Election Symbols (Reservation & Allotment) Order, 1968, for recognition of the NDPP as a State Party in the state of Nagaland.

The ECI further notified that the request of the NDPP for allotment of “Globe” as the reserved symbol has been accepted.

The NDPP was formed on 17th May, 2017 and was notified by the ECI as a registered political party on 13th October, 2017. Within a few weeks after registration, the NDPP participated in the general elections to the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland, which was held on 27th February, 2018.

With the popular support and mandate of the people, the NDPP has been given the opportunity to be part of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government in Nagaland. Subsequently, as stated above, the NDPP is now a registered and recognized political party in Nagaland with effect from 17th April, 2018 as per the communiqué of the ECI, the press release stated.

Following the notification, the NDPP has extended its sincere appreciation to the ECI for passing all necessary orders in a prompt manner as laid down in the rules.

Despite being a new party, which was formed just some months back, the NDPP has crossed major milestones and reached significant landmarks due to the committed and loyal efforts of the functionaries of the party and the popular support of the masses, it maintained.

The Party also extended deepest appreciation to the citizens of the State and the electorate for reposing faith and confidence upon the leadership of the Party and for supporting the ideologies and principles of the NDPP. It said the actual credit for the Party’s achievements belong to the people, as the people and the electorate are the real stakeholders and the genuine high command of the NDPP.

The Party also vowed to tirelessly pursue the overall upliftment of all sections of the people, based on truth and facts, and will rely on the foundation of the party’s motto of “Deeds not Words.”
