Kohima, September 10 (MExN): Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS has informed that the Election Commission of India has ordered for conduct of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls of intensive nature with reference to January 1, 2019 as the qualifying date, with the following schedule for the State of Nagaland;
The Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha in a press release has stated that all pre-revision activities such as training of officials, house to house field verification by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), rationalization of polling stations and physical verification of PS buildings and updation of the Control fables, integration and preparation of draft electoral rolls have been completed.
The draft photo electoral rolls will be published in all the 2227 polling stations by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers on September 11. Claims and objections in Form 6, 6A, 7, 8 and 8A will be received by the concerned Booth Level Officer/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer/Electoral Registration Officer from September 11 to 31.
Relevant Forms may be obtained from the above electoral authorities or downloaded from www.eci.nic.in or www.ceo.nagaland.gov.in. Special campaign dates for receiving Forms will be held on September 22 (Saturday) and October 13 (Saturday) in all the polling station locations across the State.
After disposal of all the Forms received, the final publication of the photo electoral rolls for the State will be done on January 10, 2019. The final electoral rolls so published will be used for conduct of elections till the next revision.
All political parties and citizens have been requested to take a pro-active role and extend all possible help to the entire election machinery of the State in preparation of an accurate and error-free electoral roll.
