DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) on July 25 held a joint meeting with all business establishments under its jurisdiction to discuss the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in commercial premises with the objective of enhancing public safety and deterring criminal activities.
The meeting was convened at 12 PM at the EDTC Office and attended by representatives of various shops and business outlets in the area. According to a press release issued by the EDTC, the initiative aims to improve surveillance within the town’s commercial zones and foster a safer environment for both business owners and the general public.
“The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance public safety, deter criminal activities, and improve surveillance within the town's commercial areas,” the EDTC stated.
During the meeting, the council stressed the importance of proactive collaboration between the community and the authorities. “The council emphasized the importance of proactive community collaboration in ensuring a safer environment for both business owners and the general public,” it added.
Various suggestions were shared during the deliberations, and the council assured the business community of technical guidance and support wherever necessary.
The business community “actively participated in the discussion and unanimously agreed to the proposal of installing CCTV systems in their shops and establishments.”
The council acknowledged the cooperative spirit shown by the participants. “The Town Council appreciates the positive response and responsible approach of the business community and looks forward to their continued cooperation in strengthening public safety measures across the jurisdiction,” it stated.
