DIMAPUR, MARCH 3 (MExN): The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has directed all pharmacies operating within its jurisdiction to ensure they are managed by individuals holding a valid pharmacist degree. Pharmacies without qualified professionals must close by March 31, according to a statement issued by the council.
The directive aims to enhance patient safety, improve the quality of medication dispensation, and uphold ethical pharmacy practices. By enforcing this regulation, the EDTC seeks to mitigate risks associated with improper medication handling, counterfeit drugs, and unregulated pharmaceutical sales. The council urged all pharmacy operators to comply before the deadline.
