Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): The East Dimapur Town Council has directed all auto drivers operating within its jurisdiction to strictly follow parking regulations and use only designated parking spaces authorised by the council.
In a press release, the EDTC stated that random parking of auto rickshaws along roadsides, market areas, junctions and other unauthorised places has been causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public.
“All auto drivers are hereby directed to park their vehicles only at the designated auto parking spaces authorized by the EDTC,” the release stated.
The council further informed that the Parking Councillor In-charge will oversee and monitor matters related to parking management within the EDTC jurisdiction.
It also cautioned that defaulters violating the parking regulations would face “fines, penalties, and necessary action” accordingly.
The EDTC appealed to all concerned to cooperate and maintain proper traffic discipline “in the interest of public convenience and smooth movement of vehicles.”
