Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): The Department of School department has been put to penalty by the State Information Commission for its delay in providing information sought by ta citizen pertinent to the SSA.
The commission imposed a fine-penalty on Public Information Officer KJ Lohe, for the period August 4 to September 17 (forty-four days) this year at Rs. 250 per day of delay. This amounts to Rs. 11, 000. The penalty was imposed under Section 20 (1) of the RTI Act 2005. The PIO is required to pay the penalty amount in two equal installments of Rs 5500 each by depositing it in the Government treasury.
A citizen, one Chubatangit of a voluntary consumers’ organization in Mokokchung had sought information on 50% deduction stated to be made from the SSA fund provided to the Village Education Council for construction of a school building in Mokokchung.
