‘Education is an asset for life time’

PSU 60th session cum seminar held

The Phek Students’ Union (PSU) today successfully conducted its 60th session cum seminar at Phek village under the theme “Quality education.”


In his presence as inaugural speaker, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu congratulated all the successful and meritorious students for their achievements and for making the village and community proud.


He said that education is an asset for life time, but at the same time “illiteracy can become your worse nightmare and a liability throughout your life time.”


In this, he said one must choose between the two in order to have a successful future.


Touching on white coloured jobs, self employment and entrepreneurship , Azo stated that time has come to think outside the box and venture out beyond our comfort zones and start business of our own and become self dependent and self sufficient and become an employer rather than an employee.”


He also encouraged the students not to solely depend on the government but to rely on their own skills and abilities.


The resource persons of the session included Suohienuo Keyho, senior lecturer State Institute of Rural Development and Rukuzo Hoshi, post graduate teacher GHSS Medziphema.


They spoke on the topic “Socio economic development through education” and “New Challenges for students in 2019” respectively.


Earlier, greeting was shared by Phek Village Council chairman Chivozo Soho.


The inaugural function was chaired by PSU vice president Kudezo Vero while PSU president Kuthovo Chizo delivered welcome address.


Acknowledgement was led by PSU general secretary Akuve Soho.
