Education department plans to post Hindi teacher to all GPS

The department of school education has so far posted some 250 Hindi teachers to GPS after the government announced for introduction of Hindi from lower classes in 2006.

According to the annual administrative report of the department of school education, the department is also planning to post Hindi teachers to all GPS, depending on the sanction of Hindi teacher posts by the Government of India.

The report also stated that Hindi text books for class 9 to 12 has been already prepared by the department in collaboration with NBSE and published by Nagaland Bhasha Parishad Kohima. For class three to eight, Hindi text books also being prepared and published by SCERT Kohima during 2008-09.

The department has been sending 40 students who have passed matric to Government Hindi Training Institute at Dimapur every year through interview, the report said adding that the duration of the said course is three years and the final year trainees are sent to the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra for Hindi Diploma.

Recently, the report said, the government has created three PGT (Hindi) to encourage Hindi lovers in learning Hindi at the Higher Secondary Level.

Central Institute of Hindi Agra has set up its third centre in the north east region at Dimapur to impart quality Hindi education mainly for untrained in-service Hindi teachers.

Besides that, the report said, there are several private Hindi institutes in the state to impart Hindi training to the interested candidates which are recognized by the government.
