MP partners with Nagaland and Manipur under Ek Bharat-Shreshtha

Much to the delight of the listeners and viewers, teachers and students from Madhya Pradesh presented a ‘Holi’ song on their visit to Dimapur Government College (DGC), as part of the teachers/students exchange programme under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ on March 17.
Teachers and staff of DGC led by principal, Akok Walling, organized a brief felicitation and interaction programme to welcome the Madhya Pradesh delegation. The team from Madhya Pradesh is on a five-day visit to Nagaland and they will be visiting various educational institutions in Dimapur and Kohima.
Under the Ek Bharat Shreshtra Bharat programme, every state in the country is paired with another state for a year during which they carry out a structured engagement with one another in spheres of languages, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism etc. Madhya Pradesh is partnered with Nagaland and Manipur for the year 2017 to 2018 in which four Professors and 12 students from Madhya Pradesh visited Nagaland.
Earlier, the group attended farewell cum interaction cultural Exchange programme at Tetso College and visited and held exchange programme at St. John College Dimapur. On March 18 they will attend chapel service interaction at Patkai Christian College Dimapur.
A DIPR news report informed that Ek Bharat Shreshtra Bharat aim is to celebrate unity in diversity culture of the nation and to foster sentimental bonds between people of different states under its rich heritage, culture, customs and traditions and it will showcase for enabling people to understand and appreciate the diversity. It will also establish long term engagement which promotes learning between states by sharing best practice and experiences.
Such interaction between different segments of the population of each pair of states at the cultural level would generate the vibrancies of understanding and appreciation amongst the people and forge mutual bonding, thus securing an enriched value system of unity in the nation.
Ek Bharat Shreshtra Bharat was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Exta Diwas on October 31, 2015 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Its objective is to strengthen cultural relations of various parts of the country and to embolden mutual connection between people dwelling in different states.
