‘Education is the only way to bring a change’

Tuensang, January 17 (DIPR): The valedictory programme of the 45th Yimchungrü Akherü Aihako (YAA) and the Chessore Village Students’ Union Golden Jubilee was graced by Parliamentary Secretary for RD & REPA, Pangnyu Phom as the chief guest and Parliamentary Secretary for IPR & Economics & Statistics, R. Tohanba as the guest of honour on January 14, 2011.
Speaking on the occasion, Pangnyu said 50 years of Chessore Students’ Union celebration need to be questioned as it is a long journey and further added that vision of the next celebration has to be set with a mindset of nothing is impossible. He said that education is the only way to bring a change in the society and respect to the elders brings a change in all respect. Students has a limited time to avail the opportunity to acquire knowledge, he said and urged them not to miss it but to resolve within oneself for a definite goal and strive to achieve it. He also added that students’ has an important role in the society and urged them to contribute their best. Mentality of backwardness should be erase, he said and called upon them to look forward to be a par with the other brother and sister of the Nagas.
Parliamentary Secretary for IPR, Economics & Statistics, R. Tohanba who also graced the occasion as the guest of honour said to liberate themselves from the mindset of backwardness and strive for the best and look forward, adding that the backward reservation in all respects may one day regret them. He went on to say that at the present scenario when someone is addressed backward it hurt the sentiment of a person but when opportunity comes against backwardness no one shy away with it, which is not justified, in this regard he called upon all the good citizen of Yimchungrü community in particular to rise and shine.
