Education should aim to develop full potential of a child: Nyeiwang

Minister for school education Nyeiwang Konyak today asserted that education should aim to develop full potential of a child with community welfare in mind.

Speaking at the National Education Day here in Zonal Council Hall, he strongly observed that education should harness the talent in a child with proper professional guidance, for which, dedicated teachers and professionals are required at this juncture.

Stating that computer technology has profound impact on society, he said that high schools and higher secondary schools will be connected with computer education. Education system has to be looked with great responsibility and the teachers and educators should look after the future generation, he said.

Banuo Z. Jamir, additional chief secretary said the government was viewing the practice of proxy teachers with seriousness. To stop this, she said, the government is contemplating of pasting photograph of teachers in notice boards of the respective schools.

Terming the practice of proxy teachers as “illegal and unauthorized”, she said the word ‘proxy teachers’ will be discarded from dictionary.

Sano Vamuzo, chairperson, Nagaland State Women Commission, Khesheli, president, Naga Mother’s Association, Vipralhou Kesiezie, Director SCERT and others also spoke on the occasion. Representatives form ENSF, Nagaland Board of School Education, DISs also attended the function.
