Kohima, August 4 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C IAS has issued a circular directing all educational institutions including colleges, schools, and coaching institutes under Kohima District to establish Internal Committees under Section 4 (2) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) (POSH) Act, 2013.
The directive is in compliance with a circular issued by the National Commission for Women, Government of India. The DC further emphasized that institutions must submit an action taken report and the committee's member details to the DC's office via email (dckma-ngl@nic.in) and hardcopy on or before August 14.
This proactive step aims to foster safer and more respectful environments for women in educational settings, the circular stated.
