EE Kohima informs on test charging of transformer, jungle clearance

Kohima, October 4 (MExN):  The Executive Engineer (EE) Transmission Division Kohima today issued advisory and information regarding the test charging of transformer as well as jungle clearance and maintenance programme witin the division. 

The 33/11KV, 10MVA Power Transformer at Keyake Sub-station and dedicated new 11KV line for Medical College Kohima passing through P-Khel, Kohima Village will be test charged at the rated voltage on October 5 from 11AM, the EE stated in a press release.

Further informing that the line would remain charged thereafter, the division advised all public not to touch the said line nor go near the same. 
“It is to be mentioned that anybody doing so shall be doing so at their own risk and that the Department of Power shall not be held responsible for an untoward incident whatsoever,” it added. 

Meanwhile, in a separate press release, the Division informed that jungle clearance and maintenance programme of 33 kV lines is scheduled to start from October 10 to November 1 from 8AM to 3PM in an effort to avoid disruption and facilitate stable power supply. 

While the Department shall try to minimise the total shutdown, there will be intermittent disruption of power supply in some pockets during the activity which is unavoidable, the release said.
