EEUN passes message to Govt: ‘Revoke all backdoor appointments’

Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): The Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EEUN) has been fighting against backdoor appointment and tampering of age in service for years in the interest of the younger generation. The EEUN in a press note stated that finally justice has been done in the form of passing of the Nagaland retirement from Pubic Employment (second amendment) Bill 2009 affecting retirement after serving 35 years or attaining 60 year of age but unfortunately, the Departments are trying to exploit the resultant vacancies and backdoor appointments are being carried out.

Hence, stating that it will not tolerate any sort of backdoor appointment the EEUN passed this message to the government to revoke all the backdoor appointments made already and to report all the resultant vacancies to the employment Department and advertise the same as per the government recruitment rules for open competition. The EEUN also stated that so far the government has not initiated or launched any policy or programme particularly to promote educated unemployed except CMCF and PMEGP, nor it is willing to do justice in the public employment. The note also added that the ‘year of entrepreneurs’ has been launched with an intention to further push forward the financially sound self-employed people. The government can solve unemployment problem and change the Naga society if only it has the ‘potential will’ otherwise all the year wise programme are just a ‘white lie’, further added the note.
