Dimapur, April 17 (MExN): Earth Friendly Generation (EFG) rescued a wild dog from Kangching village in Longleng district on April 15 and donated the same to Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), Dimapur on April 16.
EFG Director, Keduolhoukho Chadi said that the main objective of the rescue was to create awareness among the people about the endangered species which are almost extinct due to human cruelty towards wildlife, a press release from EFG stated. He also stressed that EFG alone will be able to do nothing, but cooperation of every individual in protecting wildlife and environment will have greater impact towards ecological balance. And to achieve the goal, the present generation is responsible in word and work, he stated.
According to the release, the Researcher of NZP said that wild dog is a rare endangered species in Naga areas. However, continuous deforestation and hunting is threatening the lives of the wild dogs as well as other endangered species, it was highlighted. The Researcher also gave his moral support to EFG and its initiatives, the release added. Meanwhile, the Deputy Ranger of NZP, Thripong Sangtam also encouraged and appreciated the EFG for their concern in protection of wildlife in particular and environment in general.
