Eldest among Jain community in Nagaland passes away

DIMAPUR, MARCH 16 (MExN): Notable social worker and the oldest person among the Jain community in Nagaland, Phuli Devi Sethi passed away in Dimapur today. She was 95. Wife of late late Nemichand Sethi and belonging to Mahabir Rice Mill family, she leaves behind 4 sons and a daughter, 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Born at Minda, Rajasthan, she got married in her teens to Late Nemichand Sethi in the forties whose family had already settled in Dimapur, Nagaland. The family established the first industry in Nagaland, Mahabir Pd. Many enterprises have been established by the family in last 100 years in Nagaland. Meanwhile, in mourning of her passing away the NIIT, Dimapur center will remain closed on March 15 and 16. Late Phuli Devi Sethi was cremated in the Hindu Crematorial ground, Walford, after a procession was undertaken from the family’s residence near Durga mandir, Dimapur.
