Paid holiday for employees on polling day
Kohima, February 13 (DIPR): In accordance with Section 135B and Section 135B (1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Home Commissioner of Nagaland, Abhishek Singh has in a notification declared the day of polling – February 27 – as paid holiday for all the employees of government/private establishments and shops in the state of Nagaland to enable them to participate and exercise their franchise. This however, shall not apply to any elector whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in respect of the employment in which they are engaged, stated the notification.
Training in Kohima postponed
Kohima, February 13 (DIPR): The 2nd round of training (Group Familiarization) for Presiding Officers, 1st Polling Officers and Additional Polling Officers for VVPAT, 2nd Polling Officers, 3rd Polling Officers and Grade IV under Kohima district has been postponed to February 16 at Razhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima at 10:30 am. DC & DEO, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, has therefore directed all concerned polling personnel to take note of the change in schedule and attend the training without fail.
Meeting with political parties in Kohima
Kohima, February 13 (DIPR): Kohima district General Observer for the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election will have a meeting with all candidates/ representatives on February 15, 11:00 am at DPDB Hall, Kohima. A briefing on Election Expenditure Monitoring will also be given during the meeting. The DC& DEO, Kohima has therefore requested candidates/representatives to bring their Expenditure Agents and attend the meeting positively.
Poll officials training for Phek district
Phek, February 13 (DIPR): In view of the forthcoming election, the 2nd phase training for all polling officials for Phek district is scheduled from February 16 to 19 at 10:00 am at Government Higher Secondary School, Phek. The training schedule is as follows: Presiding Officer & 1st Polling Officer - February 16; 2nd Polling Officer & 3rd Polling Officer – February 17; 4th Polling Officer - February 19. All concerned have been directed to attend the training without fail. T

Tuensang, February 13 (DIPR): DC & DEO, Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha has informed all polling personnel that 2nd round of training for the general election will be conducted at GHSS, Tuensang on the following dates: February 15 - 1st Polling Officers from serial no 1-125, 10:00 am onwards; February 16 - 1st polling officers from serial no 126-310; February 16- 2nd, 3rd and 4th polling officers. The names of the polling personnel have been displayed in the DC's office. All concerned have been directed to attend the training.
