DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 23 (MExN): The All Nagaland Electricity Field Worker Association (ANEFWA) has informed that it would begin protests “democratically” across Nagaland Sate beginning October 3 in lieu of the State Government’s failure to look into its demands.
It may be noted that the association had submitted a representation to the government in July seeking relaxation of qualifying years for promotion; to lift the ban of W/C appointment and maintenance of W/C strength as prescribed by the Work-Charged and Casual Employee Commission for Power Department; non-finalization of proposal for post creation and regularization of 266 No. of Field Workers; and enhancement of Risk Allowance to the Work-Charged Field Workers at par with the regular field workers.
Following this, the ANEFWA had served an ultimatum till October 3.
It however lamented that the government is “yet to consider the genuine plights of the association making the members of the association to work in great hardship.”
It informed all NGO’s within the State and the public to “bear with the inconveniences that may have to be caused and further pray to all the entities mentioned herein to extend their valuable co-operation as our demand is not to meet our selfish ends but for extending effective service to the public and to the government.”
The association further directed all members to report to the respective head quarters by the evening of October 2 and wait for further instruction from the central office of the association.
