Elite Cricket Club today defeated Missionshire Cricket Club and were declared champions of the Inter Club T20 tournament organized by Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA) under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) during the finals held at NCA ground, Sovima today.
Elite CC won the toss and elected to bat scoring 156 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Zipa Pohena scored 42 runs and Imomemba scored 40 runs for Elite CC. Sahidul Alam took 3 wickets and Aktar Khan took 2 wickets for Missionshire CC.
Meanwhile, Elite CC bowlers bowled out Missionshire for just 47 runs in 13 overs. Kevilelie Khesoh scored 16 runs. For Elite CC, Vikato took 4 wickets while Sepichem and Kelhousilie took 3 wickets each. The Man of the match was Vikato for taking 4 wickets.
Moin Uddin of Missionshire Cricket Club was given the Player of the Tournament award and the Best Batsman award went to Imomemba Walling of Elite Cricket Club. The Best Bowler was Sepichem Jingru of Elite Cricket Club and Razoulhoulie Sote of Pfuchatsumia Eagles was declared the Best Wicketkeeper.
Meanwhile during the 3 days coaching camp for Sub junior boys and girls conducted during the course of the tournament at Jakhama Village ground, a total of 6 girls and 3 boys attended the camp. Trained coaches Keviselhou Sekhose and Vikato conducted the camp.
The Inter club T20 tournament 2023 began on November 21. A total of 8 teams participated in 7 matches on knockout basis.
Earlier during the closing ceremony, Honorary Secretary, NCA, Hyunilo Khing was the special guest. He also distributed the prizes. Menguvilie Sakhrie, President, KDCA chaired the programme and Vikuonyü Solo gave the tournament report.
