
DIMAPUR, JULY 15 (MExN): Eminent educationist, former Minister and well known public figure Prof T. Chuba passed away Sunday morning around 6:30 am at Zion Hospital, Dimapur after a prolonged illness. Prof T. Chuba hailed from Longjang Village in Mokokchung District and was born on February 15, 1940. In his early public life he was closely associated with the Naga Students Federation (NSF) as a former President and also served as the first General Secretary of the Naga Integration Council.
He also served as Principal, Kohima College from 1973 to 1979. He went on to become the Professor and Head of Department of Political Science. In his public life, Prof Chuba was elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1987 from the 23—Impur Assembly Constituency as an Independent candidate. He was later re-elected from the same constituency in 1989 as a Congress (I) candidate. He served as Minister of Finance and then as Minister of Education. He was elected again in 1998 and served as Minister of Higher & Technical Education. According to a bio-data of late Prof T. Chuba his “greatest fulfillment came after the end of his public life when he devoted most of his time towards serving the purpose and will of God.
