Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland, Abu Metha visited the Nagaland Emporium in New Delhi on June 15. He was accompanied by Deputy Resident Commissioner, Wenyie Konyak and other officials of Nagaland Government, stated a DIPR report.

Metha interacted with the officers and staff of the NHHDC and took stock of the operations of the establishment and its activities. A report on the staff pattern, the economics of the establishment and the various scope and challenges faced were also shared by the NHHDC.

Metha informed that under the guidance and vision of the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the State Government was working on an approach to repackage the emporium as a facility that plays the role of a positive ambassador of Nagaland and the Naga people. He observed that every visitor who enters the Nagaland Emporium must get enchanted by the State in such a manner that they get interested to not only visit Nagaland but also learn more about the rich Naga cultural heritage. “And every Naga who steps in must be proud of Nagaland,” he added.

He said that most importantly, the emporium must be a revenue generating establishing providing gainful opportunities to local artisans, entrepreneurs and the youth. He added that corporations are meant to be assets that contribute towards growth of the economy, generate productive employment and project Nagaland and its citizens in a positive manner to the outside world.

Metha informed that the G20 and B20 Meet hosted in Nagaland was amongst the most successful with record national and international participation which resulted in generation of an impressive image of Nagaland to the global community. He said that the culmination and grand finale of the G20 in India would take place in the national capital during which all global leaders would get the opportunity to visit the State emporiums and understand India’s diversity better. Therefore, any person who enters the Nagaland Emporium must have a memorable visit where story telling is at the heart of the immersive experience, Metha stated.
