Launches My Northeast App for latest news on jobs, education and infotainment
Kohima, March 16 (DIPR): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya launched My Northeast App on March 16 at St. Joseph College, Jakhama. My Northeast App is an application with the latest news on jobs, education and infotainment. Governor Acharya while addressing the launching programme of the app stated that empowerment by education is a necessity for the development of a country. Acharya said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had observed that many young people with conventional degrees were not employable now and encouraged students to go for professional courses and to be up to date with the world and technology.
The Governor called on the students to share their knowledge for the welfare and development of the society and to build an economically strong Nagaland. Students when they come out of universities and institutions should be able to stand on their feet and make the economy of the State strong, he stated.
The Governor expressed hope that the My Northeast App will help the students in providing necessary information regarding admissions to various institutions, job opportunities, etc.
Director, Department of Higher Education, Kuholi Chishi during the launching of the app encouraged the students to make the best use of the app and upgrade and update oneself with the facilities provided by the app. She also said that not just St. Joseph College but the entire student community will benefit from the app.
CEO, My Northeast App, Prakash explaining the application said that many northeast students are deprived of opportunities due to lack of information. The app will provide information on international/ national entrance exams and scholarships; local, corporate and government job details. The app also has a call centre for providing information and any queries of the students.
Invocation for the launching programme was pronounced by Rev. Hopong Kips, Faith Harvest Church, Kohima. Welcome Address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Sebastian Ousepparampil, Principal St. Joseph College and vote of thanks by Noyingbeni Ngullie.
My Northeast App caters mainly to bring awareness on the people of North East India- be it central or corporate jobs or civil service examination, public sector jobs or private sector jobs, NGOs, different national and international scholarships and entrance examinations, fellowships deadlines, current affairs and other useful information that normally skips the eye.
