While he does not like to be in the media glare, Emraan Hashmi does not shy away from promoting a good cause. We all know how he was devastated when his son, Ayaan was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. The doting dad spared no efforts for his son’s treatment taking him to Toronto, Canada where he got cured in six months for a tumour in his kidney.
Since then, the actor has been at the forefront when it comes to promoting initiatives for cancer awareness. Last year, he wrote a book about the emotional struggles faced by his wife, Parveen and him during their son’s treatment.
As per a report in a leading national daily, the actor plans to launch a mobile app that helps spread awareness about cancer. The actor, who was a guest speaker at an event organized by the Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons last year has started working on setting up cancer detection centres across the city. The upcoming mobile application is a step further in this cause of cancer awareness.
Known for his meticulousness, the actor will work closely with a set of doctors known personally to him to create the same. He is also reportedly in talks with a software company to build the application that can be freely downloaded by one and all. With cancer treatment being such an expensive and stressful experience for all, early detection can go a long way in easing some of the woes.
