Dimapur, June 11 (MExN): The Divisional Railway Manager of North East Frontier Railway, Lumding, Promod Kumar Jain today assured that the NF Railway is committed to making Dimapur Railway Station into a model railway station. He was speaking at the Dimapur Railway Station during his visit to inspect the ongoing projects and to inaugurate pay and use toilets inside the railway station, which were constructed by N.A. Constructions.
Ruing that encroachment of railway land has hampered the development of Dimapur Railway Station, Promod stressed that cooperation of the local people and the government is most vital for the development of Nagaland’s one and only railway station, according to a press release received here.
Promod, who visited Dimapur Railway Station for the first time since taking over the charge of DRM Lumding some time back, also expressed satisfaction over the works of the ongoing projects in the station which are being implemented by registered local contractors. He was optimistic that with cooperation of local people and the government, Dimapur Railway Station will be one of the best railway stations in the region as there are lots of developmental activities in the pipeline for the station.
He congratulated the managing director of N.A. Constructions, Niuto Awomi on completing the project within the stipulated time and urged the commuters to make use of the facility which will be well maintained.
Meanwhile, the Railway Contractors’ Union Nagaland (RCUN) attributed the numerous developmental activities taking place in Dimapur Railway Station to the dedication and hard work of Additional Divisional Engineer and Senior Sectional Engineer of Dimapur Railway Station, the release said. The RCUN felicitated the Divisional Railway Manager and his team of railway officials and lauded him for having concern for the development of Dimapur Railway Station, it was stated.
