Dimapur, February 9 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for Science & Technology and Jails, S. Hukavi Zhimomi, has urged all to endeavour to ensure that normalcy returns without any further delay.
“Since now the Government has fully fulfilled the demands of the agitators, and the elections to the ULBs declared null and void, it should be the endeavour of every one of us to ensure that normalcy returns to our society without any further delay,” the Parliamentary Secretary urged in a press statement.
Zhimomi also cautioned against taking undue advantage of the non-confrontationist approach of the Government. “If the Government of the day uses an iron hand to contain the situation, no one will dare to come out in this manner,” he remarked.
According to Zhimomi, a delegation of JCC members met the Chief Minister on January 25. The Chief Minister, according to Zhimomi, informed the JCC that only the Cabinet is competent enough to decide and recommend to the State Election Commission for consideration.
