‘Energy Efficient Peren’ scheme at Jalukie B village

Peren, March 21 (DIPR): The District administration Peren in collaboration with the Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL), a public sector undertaking of Government of India, launched the ‘Energy Efficient Peren’ under UJALA scheme at Jalukie B village on March 17.

DC Peren, Zarenthung Ezung speaking as the chief guest on the occasion stressed that the power problem plaguing the district due to constant breakdown of transformer can be avoided with the use of energy efficient LED Bulb and Tube light. This in turn will drastically reduce the electricity bill of the consumer. He highlighted that with the expansion of Jalukie town, there is a rapid rise in the populace with maximum energy consumption in these areas and as such, the use of LED bulbs and Tube light has become inevitable. The village, due to its close proximity with the town faces high energy consumption and hence the scheme was launched for the first time to effectively reduce consumption especially in the valley. ‘Energy Efficient Peren’ was undertaken with the vision that all villages under Peren district would receive 100% power coverage under the UJALA scheme.

The DC expressed hope that the scheme would have a positive impact on climate change which is the need of the hour, and also solicited full co-operation of the village functionaries for effective implementation of the scheme. Further, the DC asserted that two to three far flung villages under Peren district would be adopted under this scheme, where free distribution of LED bulbs will be done in the selected villages.

The programme was chaired by SDO (C) Peren, D.Robin, while vote of thanks was pronounced by SDO (C) Jalukie, Roshietho Ngouri and short speech by Namki Chairman Jalukie B village. The programme was attended by the village council members, Jalukie Valley Youth Organization, Student bodies and the public of the area.
