Kohima, July 8 (MExN): The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP) on Wednesday appealed to the Government of Nagaland to declare total lockdown within Kohima Municipalities for at least 14 days as the spread of COVID-19 ‘is almost entering into community spread.’

Expressing concern for the welfare of all dwellers of Kohima town, AKMWP President, Neibulie Kiewhuo and General Secretary, Thejao Sekhose, issued an appeal on July 8. “Having taking trouble to safeguard our society and individuals for more than four months of lock down, AKMWP feels another fourteen days of more stringent total lockdown for our safety will do good more than harm,” it stated.

It urged the Government of Nagaland to declare and enforce total lockdown in Kohima for 14 days positively.
