ENNG decides to merge with NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 28 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today informed that the Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) has taken the decision to “merge with the NSCN giving the reason that they have good faith upon the NSCN/GPRN and its leadership.”

A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) informed that “in approaching the NSCN for merger, the ENNG President Tosham Mossang and General Pecretary Somai Pongha stated that they sincerely support the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015 signed on the basis of giving recognition to the sovereign right of Nagalim.”

“They express their desire to strengthen the Indo-Naga political talks based on Framework Agreement. With this merger they believe it will motivate the people of Tirap, Changlang and Longding(TCL) in Arunachal and allow them to get more involved and active towards the Naga national movement. They are particularly concerned for the political situation in the Pangmi region in TCL which they want to strengthen with the merger with NSCN. They express their desire to handle Pangmi region issue with a sense of urgency as any negligence would amount to highest failure for the Naga nation,” the press release stated.

It added that the ENNG leaders “show deep concern for the issue of Naga integration as the present Nagas are divided by the artificial boundaries.” They pointed out that integration of all Naga areas and the Nagas, wherever they are must be given top priority, it said.

What further motivates the ENNG to join hands with NSCN is the non-negotiable Naga flag and Yehzabo and “they are restless to get into duty assigned to them under NSCN in Naga areas in TCL, Arunachal Pradesh,” the NSCN (IM) stated.
