NWHD says women will not live in silence and fear 

DIMAPUR, APRIL 19 (MExN): The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) has strongly condemned what it termed as the “rape and murder” of a woman on April 17 in Dimapur. Though a post mortem report of the case is yet to be released, the NWHD has appealed to the authority concerned to “arrest the culprit at the earliest and award life imprisonment or capital punishment to such culprit to give an exemplary to avoid recurrence of repeated crime.” In a press statement, NWHD president, Hukheli T. Wotsa, and general secretary, Vimenuo Liegise, noted, “Raping and killing women should be stopped by a united voice, demanding award of capital punishment or life imprisonment. Enough is enough, Women will not live in silence and fear. We appeal to both Nagaland Government and National Workers to support implementation of Mosaic law (i.e. capital punishment).” According to the NWHD, “Only Mosaic law can stop such crime in our society.” It conveyed its condolence to the victim’s family.
