ENPO follows NTAC & JCC restrictions

Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has decided to “restrict opening of government offices and movement of government vehicles” till the demands of the Nagaland Tribes Action Committee (NTAC) and the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) are met. Six federating units of the ENPO were informed for “strict compliance and implementation” of the resolutions with effect from Monday, February 6, in all districts and sub-divisional administrative head quarters. All educational institutions both government & private, banks, medical, power, fire services, business & markets, army, central & paramilitary forces and private transportations are exempted from the purview of the restrictions. This was informed through a press release from the ENPO Media Cell after the ENPO had an emergency meeting on February 4. The house resolved to “to extend support in total solidarity to the resolutions as adopted and demanded” by the NTAC and JCC. It was also informed that the NTAC and JCC find representation from Eastern Nagaland through the presidents of the ENPUK and ENPUD respectively. The ENPO also regretted the “unceremonious act of back tracking by the state government from the laudable agreement between the state government and the JCC on 31st January 2017 which was initiated by the church (NBCC) that led to sparkling the present crisis.”
