Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): The Eastern Naga People’s Organization (ENPO) has conveyed support to the demand for upgrading Noklak ADC Headquarter under Tuensang district, to a full-fledged district headquarter. In a note issued by its general secretary, the ENPO stated that the demand is ‘only fair and just’ to ‘address the local socio-economic justification’. The ENPO claimed this would ‘deliver’ the ‘needs and requirements’ of the people ‘especially through infrastructural development’. The note also stated that almost every Naga tribe has its own district headquarter owing to the ‘tribal uniqueness of the Nagas in geographical, political, cultural and traditional aspects’. Making this argument, the ENPO has urged the state government to look into the demand for due consideration.
