ENPO, NMA flay rape incident

Dimapur, June 15 (MeXN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) today denounced the action of 68 years old man Alemchiba who allegedly raped a minor girl last week.

“The shameful act deserves the most stringent action that the law has to offer,” the ENPO stated in a press note issued by its President S. Khoiwang Konyak and General Secretary Amai Chingkhu.

This case should be dealt with in a firm manner and the culprit should not be shown any leniency and not be released on bail under any circumstances, it added.

It further lauded the District Administration for the prompt action in arresting the accused and for handling the situation in an orderly manner.

“The ENPO pray that the minor girl recovers well and heal from the trauma that she has been through,” it said.

The Naga Mothers Association (NMA), has also condemned in the strongest of terms, the “diabolic attitude and behaviour” of the 68-year-old man who allegedly raped a minor.

“Our society does not deserve this kind of insanity behaviour as they are supposed to be the most respectable human on earth as an elderly man,” stated an NMA press statement received here.

It further urged all authorities, particularly the law enforcing agencies to give vigorous punishment according to the law and not to bail out such “savage” culprit under any such circumstances.
