DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has suspended its proposed non-participation in the Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2019.
Media Cell, ENPO in a press statement on Sunday informed that the decision to abstain from celebrating the Independence Day was suspended after it received a formal invite for a talk by the Union Home Secretary, Government of India (GoI) on August 13 in New Delhi.
It may be recalled that the ENPO had on June 11, 2019 during its Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting held at Tuensang head quarter resolved that, the public of ENPO area would abstain from participation in the Independence Day celebration in the event of GoI fail to expedite the process of carving out separate state for the people of Eastern Nagaland and to respond to the demand before August 10, 2019.
