ENPO President, Chingmak Chang

Tuensang, April 16 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) President, Chingmak Chang made a fervent appeal before the State Government to partner with the ENPO to ensure that ‘the parameters of the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) should not be limited by any Article of the Constitution of India or statutory laws framed there under.’
‘The Central Government, State of Nagaland and ENPO have unanimously agreed and consented in principle on FNT with Executive, Legislative and Financial Autonomy. Hence, this fundamental principle must be granted in letter and spirit,’ Chang reiterated in the Presidential Speech delivered during the 8th Eastern Naga Students' Federation (ENSF) Cultural Fiesta cum General Conference at the Parade Ground in Tuensang on April 15.
“The State Government and the Central Government must ensure that constitutional provisions and statutory laws do not inhibit the establishment of the FNT in any manner,” the ENPO President also appealed, according to an update issued by the ENPO Media Cell on Wednesday.
In his address, the ENPO President “taking the advantage of the presence of Chief Minister of Nagaland and his entourage representing the State Government” made the appeals “pertaining to the ENPO movement with the State government.”
Chang reminded that the people of Eastern Nagaland had been overwhelmed by the speech delivered by the Nagaland CM in the year 2023 at Mon and Tuensang respectively, where he categorically stated that, “the State Government will give full cooperation for the development of ENPO areas and whatever decision on FNT the Gol takes, we will be a partner and see that they catch up with the rest of the state and the country.”
The ENPO President, reminded of this statement to the CM and said, “his commitment, is prayerfully anticipated which should pave way for FNT as offered by the Gol to ENPO.”
