ENPO, YAA, Tohanba condole demise of Thsankiu Yimchunger

Tuensang, August 10 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO), the Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) and R Tohanba, former Parliamentary Secretary & Advisor Government of Nagaland have condoled the untimely demise of Late Thsankiu Yimchunger.


He reportedly left behind his two sons, three daughters and grand children,”


Thsankiu, who was the former Vice President of ENPO and President of Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC),  passed away in Shamator after a prolonged illness on August 9.  


The ENPO in a condolence message issued by its Media Cell stated that Late Thsankiu “was an active and committed social worker at the grassroots for his tribe in particular and Eastern Nagaland in general.”


“He shall be remembered for his endurance and selfless contribution towards the people of Eastern Nagaland,” it said.


 The ENPO further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace. 


Meanwhile, the YAA in a condolence message remembered Late Thsankiu “was a staunch loyalist who always stood for the cause of the community through thick and thin.”


He served the office of YAA as the President during 1982-84 and went on to serve the Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) as President, stated the message issued by YAA president. 


“In his demise, the Yimchungrü community has lost a great personality whose vacuum created would be difficult to fill. His contribution towards the community shall ever be cherished,” it added.


The YAA further conveyed its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to find solace.


R Tohanba, former Parliamentary Secretary & Advisor Government of Nagaland, also expressed shock over the untimely demise of Late Thsankiu and offered his condolences.


Late Thsankiu “was the first Matriculate of Yakut village. He was a social worker by nature and also involved in politics, contested as NPP candidate in 1987 from Shamator/Chessore A/C,” he said. 


He served as the President Yimchungrü Students’ Conference, YAA 1982 to 1984, and YTC from 1999 to 2005, he added.


Tohanba further conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
