Tuensang, July 4 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has resolved that no Sovereign Republic of Freeland (SRF) office should be established within Eastern Nagaland.
In the 15th ENSF Federal Assembly held on June 26 at Tuensang HQ, the Federation adopted a resolution, popularly known as ‘Shopilak Declaration 2016’, to maintain and safeguard the interest and aspiration of the people which were duly endorsed by all the councils of Eastern Nagaland villages under the four districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire.
In accordance with the Shopilak Declaration, ENSF ordered the ban on establishing SRF office. It also declared that no SRF flags should be hoisted within Eastern Nagaland.
SRF members or ID card holders appealed
In a press release issued by its Speaker, NC Mongko Chang and Assembly Secretary, Lokhum Yim, ENSF appealed to the citizens currently “enticed” into the fold of the SRF to immediately denounce their membership and join hand into the mandated stream of the masses. “It may be noted that many innocent public were treacherously flattered into the group by assuring glamorized benefits such as: (i) Registered & ID card holders will be directly recruited into military once its target is achieved; (ii) The value/amount of Registration determines the rank & profile of the member; (iii) Many innocent elders were falsely enticed by offering magnificent ranks and assuring glamorized benefits,” the release said
The Federation further warned the SRF group “not to confuse the innocent public by assuring early political solution while they themselves are being in tuned with utmost forms of corruption and game.”
‘Instigators’ warned
The Federation also warned individuals/ bureaucrats/ groups involved in instigation to immediately abstain from such destructive act. ENSF said it has already listed some people who are “treacherously” involved behind the screen.
Appeal to all factions
ENSF appealed to all the Naga Political Groups (NSCN-IM/ NSCN-K/ GPRN/NSCN/ NSCN-R/ FGN/NNC etc) to refrain from accommodating any such element/ group into their system so as to avoid confusion and misunderstanding. Any factions doing so shall be doing at their own risk, the release warned.
ENSF empowers federating units
In accordance to the “Shopilak Declaration”, all the 6 Federation units under ENSF have been directed to immediately start executing the resolution within its respective jurisdiction by July 5, 2016. The Federation shall not be held responsible if the “Shopilak Declaration” is not being adhered to, it stated. Respective village level students have been assigned to thoroughly investigate in upholding its endorsement.
Final appeal
The Federation once again earnestly appealed to all the individuals currently enrolled in SRF to come forward openly with clear conscience so as to strive jointly in finding a peaceful solution for all.
