DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The Eastern Naga students’ Federation (ENSF) has appealed the state government to continue with relief service to Eastern Nagaland where some of the district, towns and villages are facing scarcity of essential commodities due to blockade of road communication by landslides.
With Eastern Nagaland being the worst hit zone in the state, the situation continue to remain pathetic and therefore rescue operations should continue to aid the totally cut off places from the rest of the state, the ENSF said in a press statement on Wednesday.
The federation also pointed out that students were the most affected with many of them unable to return to their institutions due to roads being completely cut off. The federation also appealed the government to provide better roads and infrastructures and ensure that the concerned contractors and department not just apply ‘lip-stick coating’ on the roads.
The federation also suggested that airlifting of commodities particularly in Kiphire &Tobu areas should continue until situation returns to normal.
