ENSF felicitation programme for HSLC, HSSLC toppers

CM Chang, Tohanba urge students to work hard

The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) for the first time organized a felicitation programme HSLC and HSSLC toppers 2013 here today at the DUDA Guest House. Altogether, 11 toppers (8 HSLC and 3 HSSLC) toppers were felicitated with citation and cash.

Minister for school education C.M Chang graced the occasion as the chief guest and congratulated all the toppers from eastern Nagaland. He encouraged the ENPO people to work harder than other advanced tribes of Nagaland.  ENPO people have to work hard, he said adding when other tribes are sleeping, we should not sleep and when others are taking rest we should not take rest. The minister urged the students to change the life style and push forwards with the competitive world. When we work hard God’s is always there to help those who helped themselves. God’s has a plan for everyone and has given talents to achieve our goal, but sometime we are neglecting God’s give talents and go in the wrong direction. In this, he urged upon the gathering to work hard with sincerity and dedication. He also called upon the ENPO people to be always united and work for the welfares of areas in every walk of life.

Also speaking on the occasion, parliamentary secretary for CAWD R. Tohanba congratulated all the toppers and said this is the stepping stone of student’s life passing through HSLC and HSSLC. He encouraged all the toppers to work hard and pursue their studies with dedication to achieve their desired goal. 

Delivering welcome address the ENSF president Likhumse Sangtam said ENSF gives it priority towards enhancement of quality education. He called upon the students to give due attention towards their academic career and bring laurels to the communities. Eastern Nagaland Gazette Officers Association (ENGOA) president Changkai Konyak, who exhorted the students said hard work is the only way to achieve the desired goal in life and said and stressed on the need to work harder than other advanced tribes’. He also asked the students to concentrate and focus only in their studies and not to indulge in using alcohols and others intoxicating things, as this will kill their times and hampers all the precious time in life. Parliamentary secretary for jail, home guards, village guards and DB/GB Kejong Chang also present at the programme.

The programme was chaired by ENSF women coordinator Mary Lam. Rev. Phomlee Van, Pastor PBCK invoked God’s blessing while special number was presented by Tsurila Yimchunger. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by ENSF general secretary Honang M. Jessuhu.
