DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Tuesday appealed the Department of Roads & Bridges to ensure that PMGSY work orders under its jurisdiction are issued to firms/contractors who are proficient, sincere and do not have a poor reputation.
The ENSF said the appeal is being issued in the backdrop of many PMGSY roads under Eastern Nagaland jurisdiction still lying incomplete or abandoned despite numerous appeals for proper workmanship and timely completion.
It called upon the state government and the concerned department to thoroughly investigate the strategic locations of the projects to be undertaken and issue work order to the right firm/contractors who do not compromise on workmanship in any manner.
Meanwhile, the ENSF requested all organizations/unions/groups/individuals to extend utmost co-operation to any firm/contractors under their respective jurisdiction for proper implementation of the work and timely completion of the project(s) and to strictly refrain from any form of collections and harassments.
Concern firm/contractors are urged to properly implement as per the specifications of the project and in the event of any false detection. The Federation will leave no stone unturned to initiate any action against the erring firm/contractor as per law and also to any individuals, groups or organizations failing to adhere to this directive, the press release stated.
