ENSSU rejoinder to NPCC on USSC’s demand

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students’ Union (ENSSU) has issued a rejoinder to the August 6 news report issued by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Public Grievances Department to expedite the demand of the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) for cancellation of transfer of teachers with posts.

On this, the ENSSU has clarified that it has written to the Department of School Education on August 28 objecting the demand of the USSC on the ground that they had included the schools of Sumi villages under Kiphire district under the establishment of SDEO, Seyochung in their letters dated June 8, 2023 and August 8, 2023 as under their jurisdiction.

It stated that the clarification is necessitated since Kiphire district is inhabited by multi tribes having definite area of jurisdiction. As such, the ENSSU maintained that one needs to be very cautious while using a word like ‘jurisdiction’ albeit in good faith and spirit. And more so, a matured body such as NPCC ought to analyse the truth before putting it in public domain, it added.
