Mokokchung, October 22 (MExN): The Ao Senden has urged the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung to ensure the proper and immediate implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) concession recently announced by the Union Government.
In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, the Ao Senden highlighted that the GST concession, declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and effective from September 22, 2025, is intended to provide relief to citizens and promote ease of living while contributing to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The letter further stated that the authorities may conduct checks at any time to ensure that the concession is being implemented correctly and urged the Deputy Commissioner to take necessary steps so that the benefits reach the people promptly.
“We also reserve the right to undertake necessary checking as whether this concession is implemented properly or not at any time,” it added.
Significant GST concessions announced by the Government of India, including a simplified tax structure and lower rates on numerous goods and services, came into effect on September 22.
