Peren, July 20 (MExN): The Zelaing Students’ Union Nagaland on July 20 informed that prolonged irregular power supply in Peren district since the onset of the monsoon has significantly affected and inhibited the normal activities of the people.
The current status of the power supply in the district is that there is hardly 4-5 hours power supply a day and there are instances when it is completely snapped for 2-3 days, the Union stated in a press release from its Media Cell.
Moreover, people living in the plain sector had to bear heat waves in the absence of electricity and perpetual power cuts, it added.
Accordingly, noting that electricity is one of the basic necessities, the ZLSU requested the concerned department to execute their “obliged duty responsively without laxity and ensure a regular power supply in the district immediately.”
