Chumukedima, September 11 (MExN): The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) for private colleges was officially inaugurated at Tetso College today. P Tukugha Sema, Director of Industries and Commerce for the Government of Nagaland, led the launch.

In his address, Sema encouraged students to embrace their individuality, creativity, and passion. He urged them to consider entrepreneurship not just as a career option for themselves, but as a means to create job opportunities for others and contribute to the state's economic development.

Dr. Hewasa L. Khing, Principal of Tetso College, welcomed the attendees and urged students to capitalize on this opportunity to build their entrepreneurial skills. Lezo Putsure, Founder of Educentre School of Business, provided an overview of the EDC’s functions, highlighting its role in fostering student entrepreneurship.

Initially targeted at government colleges under the Start-up Nagaland Policy, such as Sao Chang College in Tuensang and Peren Government College, this initiative, supported by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), is now extending to private institutions. Tetso College joins other private colleges in this expansion, including C-Edge College, Eastern Christian College, and St. Joseph Autonomous College, Jakhama.

The EDC aims to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students by offering a thorough understanding of business concepts and equipping them with the skills needed to turn their ideas into viable ventures. Students who excel will benefit from access to incubation space, exposure trips, and mentorship from industry experts.
